ESG in the supplier network

New Expo, a logistics solutions hub, is taking the forefront in adopting environmental, social and governance (ESG) practices. Understanding the challenges inherent to the events industry, New Expo is committed to mitigating its negative impact and enhancing its positive impact by implementing concrete measures in event logistics.

Recognizing the responsibility of its position as a supplier to some of the country's leading event organizers, the company is committed to spreading ESG practices at all stages of its operations. Among the main initiatives implemented by the company are:

  1. NZCE membership: Net Zero Carbon Events assists signatory companies such as New Expo with guidelines and protocols to achieve the goal of zero greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by 2050, in line with global efforts established by the Paris Agreement to limit warming at 1,5°C and reduce total global GHG emissions by 50%. By 2030, in addition to actively promoting and defending industry efforts across the value chain.
  2. Logistics Efficiency: The company studies routes to optimize the transport of materials, reducing associated emissions. Furthermore, cargo movement at venues is carried out using electric forklifts, reducing the need for human labor to unload trucks and ensuring better working conditions.
  3. Sustainable Materials: The company replaces traditional materials with sustainable, recyclable and reusable options, promoting a more conscious approach to the resources used. Furthermore, it is committed to reducing paper consumption, gradually eliminating the use of printed documents and promoting the digitalization of processes.
  4. PLVB membership: In 2020, New Expo joined the Green Brazil Logistics Program (PLVB), which is an initiative of Member Companies committed to corporate socio-environmental responsibility and seeking to apply knowledge to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and allows companies to members can improve the efficiency of logistics and cargo transportation in Brazil.
  5. Social responsability: The company is a logistical supporter of Instituto Reação, an NGO of great national relevance chaired by Olympic medalist Flávio Canto that has promoted human development and social integration for more than 20 years. New Expo recently launched, in collaboration with the Institute, the Samurai Logistics Program, which will provide real and significant opportunities for the insertion of individuals into the job market, through the offering of qualification and professional training courses.
  6. Team Health and Wellbeing: Aligned with SDG 3 (UN Sustainable Development Goal), New Expo is promoting a range of activities for its employees that include workplace gymnastics, shiatsu, bioimpedance assessment and consultation with a nutritionist. Other activities will be included in November in the team's benefits schedule, such as guided meditations and yoga classes.
  7. Emissions Compensation: The company is taking steps to offset the amount of CO₂ emissions generated by its operations, working towards achieving a neutral carbon footprint. This year, by October 2023, the company neutralized a total of 15 tons of CO₂ equivalent, contributing to the preservation of the environment.
